A tiny church awaits you here, at the junction of Rustaveli Avenue and Vazha Pshavela Street. But it's still very cute, with its frescoes in shades of blue and green. Saint Barbara's Church is located on the site of a former military hospital. Russian Emperor Alexander III ordered its construction in 1888. It was completed in 1906. The church was closed during the Soviet era and reopened in 1997.
