The ideal festival for discovering the traditional gastronomy of the Svanetia region in northwest Georgia.
This festival is dedicated to the traditional cuisine of the Svanetian region. You'll be able to sample all the region's specialities, with musical performances of Georgian folklore as background music. If you can get to Mestia a few days early, it's also a good opportunity to take part in the "Lamproba" festival, which takes place on February 14. This festival of lights is an opportunity for locals to make torches and visit the graves of their ancestors - in short, a Georgian celebration of the Day of the Dead!
