DEFENSIVE TOWERS
These defensive towers, up to five storeys high and often built against houses, are a precious heritage for local residents.
You have to walk among the defensive towers to realize the scale of this medieval village, one of the most fascinating in the Caucasus. The hamlet of Tchvibiani is particularly well preserved. The towers that were used for the mouths were built around the four hamlets of which Ouchgouli is formed around the 10th century to protect themselves from possible attacks by enemies, which almost never took place (great luck). They are often leaning against the houses and can be up to five storeys high. The towers are a precious heritage for the inhabitants.
