The impressive Chkhara glacier offers a superb 6-hour round-trip hike from Ushguli.

A superb hike (if not the most beautiful in the Caucasus) of 6 hours round trip from Ushguli awaits you. It takes you to the foot of Georgia's highest point and its impressive glacier, the Chkhara. To get there, simply head up the valley towards the mountain, past the Lamaria church. All along the way, the landscape is grandiose and mineral, and on arrival the panorama takes your breath away. Please note: if you wish to climb the mountain, you'll need a guide, as this is mountaineering and you can't just improvise!

The highest glacier in Georgia, which impresses when admired from the village of Ouchgouli. His contemplation, silent, is a moment of incredible fullness.
