THÉÂTRE NATIONAL DE SARAJEVO

This institution (Narodno Pozorište Sarajevo) is housed in a neoclassical building erected in 1898 according to the plans of Karel Pařík, who is also responsible for, among other things, the Sarajevo synagogue located across the street. The 400-seat hall hosts theater, dance, opera and classical music performances (see the program on the website). It is notably the seat of the Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra, a renowned group still waiting for its own hall.
