Moorish-style synagogue with four towers and services led by a cantor upstairs, formerly reserved for women.

This Moorish-style synagogue (Sarajevska Sinagoga) is one of the largest in Europe. It was built in 1902 for the needs of the rapidly growing Ashkenazi community. With four towers, it was designed by the architect Karel Pařík, to whom we owe, among other things, the National Museum and the initial plans for the Vijećnica. Due to the small number of worshippers, services are conducted by a cantor on the first floor, which was once reserved for women. Outside, a monument was installed in 1965 to mark 400 years of Jewish presence in Sarajevo.
