CARAVANSÉRAIL KOLOBARA
A reception area for merchant caravans, retaining its original form with four walls surrounding a rectangular courtyard.
Little remains of Kolobara Han, the oldest caravanserai in Sarajevo. Built during the second half of the 15th century, this place of reception for the caravans of merchants was largely demolished in 1935. The building that replaces it, however, retains its original form with four walls surrounding a rectangular courtyard. The latter houses the terrace of the Kolobara café-restaurant, which enjoys the shade of a dozen large trees: an oasis of greenery and coolness that is appreciated in summer. The only original wall houses stores.
