BEZISTAN GAZI HÜSREV-BEY
Covered market 109 m long, today home to mostly low-end and counterfeit stores.
This 109 m long covered market (Gazi Hüsrev-Begov Bezistan) was part of the Gazi Hüsrev-Bey mosque complex. Built in 1555 by Croatian craftsmen from Ragusa (Dubrovnik), it has two inner aisles (52 stalls) and shops in Kujundžiluk Street. Damaged during the last war, it now houses mostly stores selling cheap and counterfeit goods. It was originally a bezistan, a building where precious textiles were stored. It was used by merchants from Ragusa and Venice.
