FESTINA LENTE FOOTBRIDGE
Footbridge in glass and steel, 28 m long and 4 to 7 m wide, designed by three Académie design students.
This elegant footbridge (Most Festina Lente), whose Latin name means "hasten slowly," was erected in 2012. It leads to the imposing Academy of Fine Arts, a former neo-Byzantine evangelical church from 1899 that was transformed into a university in 1972. The footbridge was designed by three design students of the Academy. It is 28 m long and 4 to 7 m wide, and is made of glass and steel. It forms a loop in the middle which shelters two benches and invites to slow down the step. At night, its lines are highlighted by LEDs.
