SARAJEVO BREWERY
A complex of Baroque and Oriental architecture producing beer and a variety of beverages, and housing a museum and pub-restaurant.
This industrial site (Sarajevska Pivara) produces the country's most famous beer, Sarajevsko, as well as various beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic beers, fruit juices, Pepsi range, etc.). Easily identifiable with its red walls and high tower, this complex of baroque and oriental architecture was founded at the end of the Ottoman era, in 1864. It has been brewing beer ever since, including during the 1992-1996 siege. There is a museum on the premises with the history of the company and a decent pub-restaurant (local and international cuisine).
