Museum in a renovated Ottoman-style house, housing fine bas-reliefs from a Roman temple and an ethnology collection.
Founded in 2011, this museum (Zavičajni Muzej Konjic) is housed in a renovated Ottoman-style house. It houses beautiful bas-reliefs from a 2nd century CE Roman temple dedicated to the Indo-Iranian god Mithra that was discovered in 1897 near Konjic. There is also a collection of ethnology, works by local artists and a space dedicated to Zulfikar Zuko Džumhur (1920-1989), a cartoonist, painter and writer from Konjic who was very popular in Yugoslavia. You will also find information about visiting the area and its stećci necropolises.
