MAUSOLEUM OF ŠEJH JUJO
Large six-column türbe housing the remains of the first true Bosnian intellectual of the Ottoman period, Mustafa Ejubović.
This large six-columned turbe erected in 1831 (Šejh-Jujino Turbe) houses the remains of the first true Bosnian intellectual of the Ottoman period, Mustafa Ejubović (1651-1707). Nicknamed "Jujo the Wise" (Šejh Jujo), he promoted the development of education in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The visit, warmly recommended by some inhabitants of Mostar, has little interest. But it allows to discover the Šarić mosque (1624) and the largest Muslim cemetery in the city (Šarića Harem), where many victims of the last war are buried.
