GLASS BANK
An angular ten-storey concrete skeleton, with glass walls, housing the Bosnian-Croat snipers defending Mostar-Est.
This ten-story angular concrete skeleton owes its nickname (Staklena Banka) to its glass walls which were destroyed during the last war. What was then the tallest building in the city housed Bosnian-Croat snipers who were targeted by the defenders of East Mostar. Completed in 1991, the building was intended to house the headquarters of the Commercial Bank of Mostar, but its 8,829m2 of office space was never used. Bought by the federal state in 2017, it remains empty and its accesses are (almost) all condemned, as it is considered ill-famed.
