MOSTAR HIGH SCHOOL
A triangular-shaped, neo-Moorish-style high school on the Plaça d'Espagne, housing three separate schools since 2009.
Overlooking the Spanish Square, this high school (Gimnazija Mostar) evokes the Vijećnica, the former Sarajevo town hall, with its triangular shape, orange color and neo-Moorish style. It was completed in 1902 according to the plans of the Czech architect František Blažek (1863-1944). Damaged during the last war, since 2009 it has housed three separate schools: one Bosnian-Croat, another Bosnian and a private high school with students of all origins. The latter is a model for bringing communities together.
