HALEBIJA TOWER
Renovated, lower-height semi-cylindrical tower housing the Vieux-Pont divers' club and an exhibition area.
This tower (Kula Halebija) guards the western entrance to the Old Bridge. Built at the same time as the Tara Tower (1676) opposite, it is also semi-cylindrical, but of lower height (about 18 m) with 3 m thick walls at the base. During the Ottoman period, it housed guards and served as a prison. Since its renovation in 2002, it houses the Old Bridge Divers Club and an exhibition space. The tower continues with a door that closed the access to the bridge. This one is surmounted by a pretty wooden watchtower with a slate roof.
