POČITELJ CLOCK TOWER
An almost square tower, 16 m high, used to indicate prayer times to Muslim inhabitants and as a watchtower.
Measuring 16 m high, this almost square tower (Sahat Kula) dates from the 17th century. It was used to indicate prayer times to Muslim inhabitants, but also as a watchtower. Like those of Mostar and Stolac, it is in the Dalmatian style with its prismatic top reminiscent of the campanile of the Catholic churches in the region. Its bell was melted down by the Austro-Hungarians during the First World War. Below is the main parking lot of the historic village.
