INAT BRIDGE
Pont de l'Obstination, 26.80 m long, supported by five arches, almost all of different widths.
Built between the 15th and 17th centuries, this "bridge of obstinacy" (Inat Ćuprija) owes its name to the legend that the client and the craftsman in charge of the construction got into an argument during the construction. Vexed by the client who did not find the work symmetrical enough, the craftsman would have persisted, by bravado, to make it as asymmetrical as possible. As a result, we now have a 26.80 m long bridge supported by five arches, almost all of which are different in width: 2.95 m, 3.10 m, 3.75 m, 2.90 m and 2.90 m.
