STOLAC ISLAND
The island formed by the two arms of the Bregava River is one of the locals' favorite summer strolling spots.
This island (Ada) is formed by the two arms of the Bregava River. It extends from the open-air pool Kupaje (northeast) to the Podgradska Mosque (southwest) for about 400 m in length and 70 m in average width. It was the residence of the city's Muslim elite during the Ottoman period. Unfortunately, most of the beautiful houses there were destroyed by Bosnian-Croat forces in 1993. Drowned in the greenery, the island is nevertheless very pleasant. It is one of the favorite places to walk in the summer.
