CRKVINA HILL
Hill with views of Mount Leotar, home to the religious-tourist complex honoring the poet and diplomat Jovan Dučić.
This hill (Crkvina/Црквина) dominates Trebinje at 405 m above sea level. The summit offers beautiful views of Mount Leotar to the north and Montenegro to the east. Since 2000, it has been home to the Hercegovačka Gračanica tourist-religious complex with a partial (and soulless) replica of a masterpiece of Serbian-Byzantine art: the Church of the Mother of God (1322) of the Gračanica Monastery in Kosovo. Funded by an American businessman born in Trebinje, the complex is intended as a tribute to the poet and diplomat Jovan Dučić. It features the panoramic Dučićev Pogled restaurant.
