PORTE DE BANJA LUKA
Ottoman gate guarding the eastern entrance to the walled city, access to the St. Luke's Monastery and Franciscan Museum.
This Ottoman gate (Banjalučka Kapija) guards the eastern entrance to the walled city. The St. Luke's Monastery and the Franciscan Museum can be reached through this gate, passing through the old blacksmith's quarter, along the Hadadan Mosque, which was founded in 1630 but whose present building dates from 1936. Near the gate, in the walled city, is the Hadži-Muharem Mosque located next to the Vrbas and, further up towards the fortress, the Krslak House (Kršlakova Kuća), a beautiful Ottoman-style building that houses the municipal art gallery.
