CHURCH OF THE DORMITION OF THE MOTHER OF GOD
Serbian Orthodox church recognizable by its bell tower topped by a bulb with a beautiful iconostasis and three icons inside.
This Serbian Orthodox church (Crkva Uspenja Presvete Bogorodice/Црква Успења Пресвете Богородице) dates from 1854. Recognizable by its bell tower topped by a bulb (21.40 m high with the cross), it was remodeled several times until 1977. Inside, beautiful iconostasis and icons of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. The wall paintings (and three icons) were made by the expressionist painter Roman Petrović (1896-1947), a native of Donji Vakuf.
