Offering a beautiful view of the Una Valley, it was occupied as early as the 10th century BC, and then probably fortified by the Iapydes during antiquity. The medieval fortress, which has been undergoing renovation since 2015, is in the form of a triangle with a long wall 40 m long overlooking the hamlet of Sokolac. First mentioned in 1380, it was abandoned after the departure of the Ottomans in 1878.
