Douala's international airport (the old one, at the end of the main avenue du Général-de-Gaulle, was converted into a military base for the air force several years ago) is the country's largest, and is used by many airlines every day. It is also the departure point for several domestic flights to Yaoundé, Garoua, Bafoussam, Bamenda and Maroua, operated by Camair-co, the Cameroonian airline. Access to the airport is extremely secure and reserved for travellers only.
