LIMB CHURCHES

Home to numerous churches, the oldest of which dates from the late century.
Limbé has many churches. There are around a dozen, most of them concentrated in the aptly named Church Street. The oldest dates from the late 19th century and was built by the Germans. It stands on the waterfront in the German quarter, opposite the monument to Alfred Saker, a missionary who worked in and around Limbé. This imposing edifice, with little relief, has stood the test of time, and services are still regularly held here. It's one of the town's curiosities.
