ALFRED SAKER MONUMENT

Well-maintained monument to the first European to set foot in Limbé, Alfred Saker.
Next to the town hall, facing the sea, a monument has been erected in memory of the first European to set foot in Limbé. His name is Alfred Saker. On his arrival in 1858, he christened the town Victoria, a name you'll find everywhere in the town, as well as the Saker name throughout the country, including street names, churches and businesses. The monument isn't impressive, but it's well-maintained, and a small commemorative plaque, fixed to the structure, provides a little more information.
