LE ROCHER DE LA VIERGE
Below the monastery, a huge black rock rises up. In a grotto carved into the rock, a statue of the Virgin Mary dominates an area of meditation where many believers come on pilgrimage. This space has existed for some fifty years and is an integral part of the region's places of worship. If Cameroonians see the Mont Fébé Marian grotto as a little like the grotto at Lourdes, it impresses with its imposing appearance and smooth, rounded shape. From the top of Mont Fébé, this edifice is dedicated to watching over the city of Yaoundé.
