The first Saint-Julien church was located at the bottom of the Saint-Julien Ditches. It was destroyed on July 7th, 1944, during the last bombardment of the city. The current building, particularly in modern architecture, was built according to the plans of Henry Bernard, between 1954 and 1959. Made with reinforced concrete, it has shaped mandorla. The walls of the church, are surprising, since they consist of no less than 4500 glass tiles, with 50 different colours.

Grande eglise étonnante de part sa voûte, les parois de verre et les couleurs. Elle a été réalisée en béton armee. Son style est moderne.
