Maho Bay beach is world famous: it is located in line with the Juliana airport runway. Some people call it Kerosene Beach! The landings and take-offs of jumbo jets are the real attraction of the area. You are lying on the beach and you see planes passing right over! An unusual show! It is forbidden to approach the airport fence to be closer to the show: the skin scrubbing thanks to the sand is guaranteed. In the middle of the beach, a surfboard indicates the flight schedules.

Encore plus impressionnant en vrai, la plupart des gens sur la plage attendent un avion pour faire la photo tant attendue

C'est un incontournable de Saint Martin. Même si on a vu des dizaines de photos avant, le passage des avions est vraiment impressionnant.
Les horaires d'arrivée sont inscrits sur une planche de surf près du bar. Le jour où nous y sommes allés, les avions décollaient vers la montagne donc RAS.
Cela ne prend pas trop de temps sur le planning des vacances et c'est une expérience unique. Attention au viseur, les avions arrivent très vite et ils sont très vite hors cadre !
