The Youth Festival has its roots in the desire to get rid of colonization and to reclaim the country, especially through its youth, symbols of vitality, enthusiasm and vigor. It was established in 1956 and entrusted to the patronage of the Crown King Hassan II, then 28 years old. The festival was celebrated on July 9, together with the birthday of Hassan II. Upon his death, the holiday was moved to August 21, the birthday of King Mohammed VI. On this holiday, celebrations are organized throughout the country.
