PALACE OF THE ITALIAN INSTITUTIONS
Palace with a refined architecture of Andalusian Moorish style, and hosting many cultural events
This superb palace was built at the end of the 19th century by Sultan Moulay Hafid, who bequeathed his name to it. It presents a refined architecture in a Moorish Andalusian style. When Morocco was divided between the colonial powers, Moulay Hafid only agreed to go and sign the act of Protectorate in Paris if his palace was completed. The building was subsequently acquired by the Italians in 1926. Renovated in 2006, it now hosts numerous cultural events.
