AL-MENDOUBIA GARDEN AND PALACE
The large garden of the Mendoubia houses the palace of the same name which was once the residence of the Sultan, located in Tangier.
The large garden of the Mendoubia houses the palace of the same name, which was once the residence of the Mendoub, the Sultan's permanent representative when Tangier was an international zone. The German consulate later took up residence here, before becoming the Commercial Court in 1945. In these gardens, a giant fig tree and several hundred-year-old dragon trees bear witness to the historical character of the place, as do the 17th and 18th century cannons.
