CERVANTES THEATRE
North Africa's most important theater, with a ceiling of particularly richly coloured architecture
Inaugurated in 1913, it has long been the most important theater in North Africa. Today it is being renovated, and under the ruins you can still see the features of its particularly colorful architecture. The ceiling was painted by Federico Ribera and has hosted the greatest: Caruso, Conchita Piquer, Manolo Caracol and Lola Flores, the Italian Tallavi and many others. The theater is supposed to be restored since the 1990s, including through Spanish funds. For various reasons, nothing had been done until recently.
