VILLA HARRIS
A former villa in the heart of Tangier Bay, now a museum with a collection of works by European and Moroccan artists
The reopening of the Villa Harris in March 2021 has caused a stir in Tangier. This old villa from the late 19th century had been abandoned for more than 20 years. Hidden in a vast 9-hectare park in the center of the Bay of Tangier, in the Malabata district, the villa has become a museum as part of the Tangier Metropolis development project. It now houses the Khalil Belguench collection, which brings together works by European artists from the early 20th century as well as Moroccan artists who laid the foundations of modern art in the Kingdom.
