The remains of this basilica of the fourth century were discovered by chance, while carrying out work in the roadway. It is the oldest Christian church found in the northern Mediterranean basin to date. More than its very simple plan made of a rectangle with double nave, the interest of this basilica derives from its necropolis hidden under the rubble. Sarcophagi dating back to the Roman period have been found there, intact, and containing the bones of the deceased.
