The southern bay begins with the two urban beaches of Ribera and El-Chorrillo. It continues with a series of small coves and beaches until Almadraba, a very traditional fishing area, where the celebration of the Virgen del Carmen is very important. In summer, there are fish salting stations known as volaores. The two most important beaches, Almadraba and Tramaguera, are frequented by families from the neighbouring neighbourhoods of Miramar and El-Príncipe and have umbrellas.
