NATIONAL ARTS AND CRAFTS SCHOOL
A school of about 100 students, with different workshops, including pottery, iron, embroidery or woodworking
Housed in an Andalusian-Moorish style building, this school was founded in 1919. At that time, Arab, Jewish and Spanish craftsmen coexisted in Tetouan. The aim of the school was to perpetuate the know-how that contributed to the reputation of the city. Today, a hundred students attend eleven different workshops, including pottery, wrought iron, embroidery and woodworking. The visit reveals sumptuous carved wooden ceilings and beautiful zelliges.
