LOVER'S GARDEN
The lovers' garden with a landscaped area of paths, ponds and fountains of Arab-Andalusian style
The official name of this garden, nobody knows it or almost. The Tetouanese affectionately call it "Ryad El Ouchak" which means the garden of lovers. This landscaped area with paths, ponds and fountains in the purest Arab-Andalusian style was planted in 1929. The Spaniards sought to recreate the atmosphere of the gardens of the Alhambra in Granada. Long abandoned, it underwent a complete restoration in 2007. Since then, residents have enjoyed sitting on the public benches and watching time go by.
