MERJA ZERGA LAGOON

A superb lagoon with turquoise waters in Moulay-Bousselham, a good address for birdwatching enthusiasts.
One of Moulay-Bousselham's well-guarded treasures is its lagoon. Beyond its ornithological interest, the Merja Zerga will captivate nature lovers. At the foot of the hillside houses are the blue boats of the fishermen. Here, sandbanks, shallow turquoise waters and swamps of rushes undulate under the blue sky. Many migratory birds winter here. You'll see ducks, shorebirds, flamingos... In all, about 100 species frequent the site, including the lapwing, the cape owl and the avocet.
