HASSAN TOWER AND MOHAMMED MAUSOLEUM V
An imposing tower and a remarkable mausoleum, a place of worship housing the tomb of Mohammed V and the remains of King Hassan II
These two monuments face each other in a square strewn with centuries-old columns, remnants of what should have been the largest mosque in the world. At 44 metres high, the Hassan Tower is imposing. Opposite, the mausoleum of Mohammed V is a place of worship, housing the tomb of Sultan Mohammed V, the remains of King Hassan II, and Prince Moulay Abdellah. Marble, zelliges, cedar: the noblest elements of Moroccan architecture were used.
