The former Archaeological Museum renamed Museum of History and Civilizations, in April 2017, is undoubtedly the most beautiful and richest in Morocco. One discovers there the history of Morocco, from prehistory to the advent of Islam through the Roman period. You will find the results of multiple excavations carried out in the numerous Moroccan sites, including the famous bronze dog discovered in Volubilis. Everything that is the most authentic, the unique, has been gathered here.

Très bien, sauf que les bronzes les plus célèbres, buste de Juba II, l'éphèbe de Volubilis sont conservés ... en réserve !
Dommage.

Ce musée appelé maintenant Musée de l'Histoire et des Civilisations a été rénové et a réouvert en avril 2017. Ses collections en particulier les marbres et les bronzes (exceptionnels) dont la plupart viennent de Volubilis constituent le complément idéal à la visite de ce site. Le musée est assez petit et se visite rapidement, on peut donc coupler avec le musée d'art contemporain MM VI qui est tout proche. Pour faire le grand écart artistique.
