The moussem is a traditional religious feast where there are performances of the Moroccan folklore: traditional orchestras, songs and dances… That of Moulay Abdellah Amghar in El Jadida is one of the most famous of the Kingdom. A few kilometres from the fortified Portuguese city, no fewer than 500 000 people plant their tents to attend seven days of festivities until the early morning! Two features for the Moussem of El Jadida, its Fantasia equestrian show, which brings together around 3 600 riders and their manifestations of falconry. Not far from El Jadida, in the village of Ouled Frej, the tribe of Des perpetuates this art practiced by the lords since ancient times. Falcons are trained with pigeon hunting exercises daily.
