MEDINA AND ITS RAMPARTS

Medina with remarkable ramparts, built by the Portuguese, a museum dedicated to ceramics and a lively souk in Safi.
Built by the Portuguese, the ramparts that surround the medina are very impressive and reach their maximum height at the level of Kechla, where one reaches a platform that offers a beautiful panoramic view of the city and the ocean. This massive fortress also houses a museum dedicated to ceramics. The medina, whose central axis is the rue du Souk, is the most lively and, at certain times of the day, it is even difficult to move forward in this human torrent lined with small shops and craft workshops.
