Monument commemorating Saint Exupéry and l'Aéropostale, depicting a Bréguet aircraft taking off for the Atlantic
The Latécoère Line building reminds us that Tarfaya was once one of the 10 Aéropostale relays on the 3,000 km line linking Casablanca to Dakar. It was here that one of his pilots, Antoine de Saint Exupéry, matured his reflection on the condition of man and his quest for the infinite, and wrote Courrier-Sud in 1928. Shortly before the beach and a few meters from the barracks, notice the Saint Exupéry and Aéropostale memorial. Perched on a small pedestal, it represents a Bréguet plane leaving for the Atlantic.
