KASBAH AMRIDIL
A magical place with a richly crafted façade, housing a museum with gold coins, traditional costumes and manuscripts
Amridil's kasbah appears on the old 50 dirham banknotes. It was built at the end of the 17th century by Sidi Mohammed Nassiri, a master of the Koran, and still belongs to the descendants of the founder. Originally, kasbah was a zawiya where the principles of Islam were taught. It is in this magical place that some scenes of Lawrence of Arabia and Ali Baba and the 40 thieves were shot. Its richly crafted façade is beautiful and the interior contains a museum with gold coins, traditional costumes and manuscripts.
