Ksar of Moulay Ismaïl, used as a set and film location for many films, offering an interesting visit into the past
Built in the 17th century, this ksar has been relatively well preserved. The singularity of this village is that about 1,500 people still live there. The visit, a kind of journey into the past, is quite interesting. It allows to realize the ways of life of former days in what seems sometimes like forgotten vestiges. Another source of pride for the locals, the ksar has also been used as a set and filming location for many movies, including a version of The Little Prince and Marco Polo. An essential detour if you go to Rissani.
