Taragalte is the old name given to M'Hamid el Ghizlane, a historical crossroads of the Sahara trade. But Taragalte is above all a team that works, in partnership with local authorities, the Kingdom institutions (SMIT, Moroccan Ministry of Tourism) and a Dutch NGO (Sahara Roots), to enhance and protect the dunes of southern Morocco and to promote tourism respectful of local traditions and populations. The festival is an event for lovers of desert music that takes place every year, in October.
