Founded in 2002, the association franco-marocaine Au coeur de l 'friendship works in partnership with other local associations to support the disadvantaged children of Essaouira. Among other missions, it brings at least one meal a day to small Souiris and provides them with a framework of listening, learning and care in a much larger house than the previous ones. A generous donation allowed the association to move there. The reception room is equipped with dining tables, benches for quiet times, libraries and computer stations. Children also have access to a computer room to familiarize themselves with the tool and space, on the shady terrace, for manual work in particular. A team of salaried and civic educators, as well as a cook, essential in the operation of the house, and volunteers supervise children in a very personalized way in order to monitor their evolution. Even if in Essaouira, poverty does not appear in the eyes, there is a lot of cabbage in the streets and many families in precarious situations, which have no decent food. Benefiting from several Moroccan and international partnerships, the heart of friendship is also developing thanks to donations.
