MUSEUM OF ARTS AND POPULAR TRADITIONS
A 2-storey museum brimming with information, ethnographic objects and a fine collection of Gnaoua musical instruments
The Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdallah Museum has been housed since 1980 in a beautiful seigniorial building, which was once used as a town hall and then as a youth center. It is full of information and beautiful ethnographic objects: pottery, jewelry-amulets, carpets and especially a beautiful collection of musical instruments Gnaoua. On two floors, it offers a very complete picture of the history of Essaouira and its region, its culture and the traditions of its inhabitants.
