MOHAMMED BOULEVARD V
A remarkable boulevard with a set of emblematic facades with a very ornamental architectural style in Casablanca.
Boulevard Mohammed-V is one of the major axes of the development plan of the new city set up by the town planner Henri Prost. On the occasion of the Franco-Moroccan exhibition initiated by Marshal Lyautey, the Chamber of Commerce, the Moroccan Post Office and the Central Market were built between 1915 and 1920 on the boulevard. A whole set of emblematic facades with a very ornamental architectural style, characteristic of the first years of the protectorate: facades decorated with fruit, cherubs and flowers, stucco and zellij friezes.
