In case of loss/theft of passport (and therefore visa) it is imperative to go to the FRRO. An extension of 15 days is then issued free of charge. To do this, provide an identity photo, a photocopy of your passport, your visa and your return ticket (which must also be confirmed). For a longer extension, this is the veteran's journey but nothing prevents you from trying. The FRRO will explain the path to follow, which can be long and repetitive. On-site, it is also possible to obtain, within a minimum of 2 to 3 days, a 15-day permit to visit certain controlled areas.
